This contemporary residence, nestled in the lush green setting of Thrissur, Kerala, is designed as a response to the region's tropical climate while embracing a clean, modern aesthetic. Commissioned by Mr. Vyshak, the 3,255 sq.ft. home exemplifies climate-sensitive design blended with bold architectural expression.

At the forefront of the design is a striking mint-green spiral staircase that serves as a sculptural element on the facade, providing external vertical circulation and visual continuity across levels. The upper floor features vertical louvered screens, which enhance privacy and facilitate passive cooling—an essential feature for homes in humid tropical zones.

A pitched terracotta roof crowns the structure, harmonizing with the natural environment and promoting efficient rainwater runoff. The material palette is grounded in simplicity: exposed concrete, crisp white walls, warm wooden fenestrations, and carefully curated greenery create a balanced and serene atmosphere.

Natural light and cross ventilation are central to the spatial planning, with large openings and internal courtyards designed to bring the outside in. Every element of the house—from the fenestration to the landscaping—has been thoughtfully integrated to create a sustainable, comfortable, and elegant family home.
