Samrudhi House
Client: Mrs. Ajitha
Location: Alappuzha
Area: 1,900 sq ft
Year: 2024
Status: Completed
Samrudhi House, located in Alappuzha and commissioned by Mrs. Ajitha, is a contemporary residence that explores the harmonious relationship between modern architectural forms and the warmth of brick. Spanning a built-up area of 1900 square feet, the home is distinguished by its crisp white volumes, carefully detailed brick-clad surfaces, and expansive openings that create a balanced and visually engaging façade. The design incorporates generous overhangs, sheltered verandas, slender columns, and dark-framed windows, giving the residence a clean yet expressive architectural character. The extensive use of brick adds warmth and texture to the predominantly white composition, while the surrounding greenery and landscaped spaces establish a natural connection with the home. Initiated in 2023 and currently ongoing, the project reflects a thoughtful approach to contemporary living within the serene context of Alappuzha.

Samrudhi House presents a refined interpretation of contemporary residential architecture, where simplicity of form is enriched through materiality and thoughtful detailing. The contrast between the clean white surfaces and richly textured brick cladding gives the residence a distinctive identity while maintaining a sense of warmth and visual balance. Carefully designed semi-open spaces, shaded projections, and large windows allow natural light and ventilation to become an integral part of the living experience. The landscape further softens the architectural geometry, creating a seamless transition between the built and natural environments. As the project continues to evolve, Samrudhi House stands as a compelling example of how modern design can be both sophisticated and welcoming, rooted in its surroundings while maintaining a strong contemporary expression.
